On July 11, the first Türkiye China Economic and Trade Forum was held in Istanbul, and more than 100 Turkish and Chinese businessmen attended the meeting.

The conference was hosted by Türkiye's Foreign Economic Relations Commission (DEIK) and Türkiye's Industrial and Commercial Association (TUSIAD) and lasted one day with the theme of "Digital Transformation and Designing the Future". The event included several group discussions on bilateral digital cooperation, and executives of Türkiye and Chinese companies shared their successful cases in business activities.

In his speech at the event, the Turkish ambassador to China, smail Hakk ı Musa, stressed that "Türkiye China relations have developed rapidly in recent years. Over time, our cooperation on the historical Silk Road has evolved into a 'digital Silk Road' and expanded to the public level. 'Digital transformation' is also the theme of our meeting today. In fact, from e-commerce to telecommunications... from renewable energy to electric vehicles... we have established new partnerships with China in a wide range of fields, from cloud technology to defense industry."

"In the current international situation, Türkiye and China are among the few countries that have political stability and are making continuous progress on the road to prosperity and development. It is in our hands to raise our cooperation to a new level and carry out projects at the level of strategic partnership. What I want to say is that it is clear that history, geography, strategy, global dynamics and ultimately common sense are inviting Turks and Chinese to cooperate more closely. Based on this understanding, we are fully confident that you will assess future opportunities on a win-win basis in a way that is in line with the common interests of the people of Turkey and China."

Neil Olpak, President of DEIK, Cagatay Ozdogru, member of the Board of Directors of TUSIAD, Zhang Shaogang, Vice President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and Liu Shaobin, Chinese Ambassador to Türkiye also attended the meeting.
